For Windows operating systems
- On
your desktop, double click on My Computer
- Double
click Control Panel
- Double
click Dial-Up Networking
- In
the dial-up networking folder, right click
on your Horizonz dial-up connection icon. Then click Properties
- Under
the General Tab, enter in the dial-up access number
you would like to use (We recommend that you check with your local operator to
make sure that the local access number is not a toll charge.)
For Mac OS
- Go to the Apple menu, select Control
Panel, then select Remote Access
- In the Number field, type in the access
number you’d like to use (We
recommend that you check with your local operator to make sure that the local
access number is not a toll charge.)
With each paid account with Horizonz you get up to 5 email addresses.
One email address is created at the time of signup. In order to create the
other 4 email addresses you will need to login in to your user control panel at www.horizonz.com/control_panel.htm
or click on the control panel link on our home
page.
The username is your email address and password is the password for your
email. Click on the email accounts link and complete information
requested. In order to add additional email addresses to your account
please contact customer service at cs@horizonz.com.
You can check your email from anywhere as long as you are connected to the
Internet. To check your email direct your browser to www.horizonz.com/webmail
or visit www.horizonz.com/
and click on the webmail button. This will give you access to
your email via the web. Once you have downloaded the mail using a separate
email program it is cleared from the server and will not be accessible from the
web.

General Questions
No. There is no software needed to use our
service. Everything required to set up the internet connection is already
installed on your computer. For Windows based operating systems, a dial-up
connection can be set up through Dial-Up Networking. For

For Mac OS, there is also no software needed.
A connection can be set up through the Internet Setup Assistant.

Once the dial-up connection is set up, a connection
can be established and then you can use your internet browser to surf the web or
an email program to check your email.

There are many factors that can affect your
connection speed. Some of them are:
- Modem speed
- Modem type
- Supported speed based on the dial-up number
- Quality of phone lines in your area
- User traffic at a given time

Once emails are pulled from the email server, they are no longer stored
there. If you were not to pull the email and check it online, then the messages
would be there. You can also setup your program to leave the messages on your
server. Please check your email program instructions for more information.
All accounts have an automatic fifteen-minute "idle-timeout"
feature that clears the line for ACTIVE users. Providing network
efficiency for the good of all other Internet subscribers. Subscribers may
not maintain an "Unattended" connection to the service, causing
excessive connection time, for any reason. While excessive connection time
is determined at the sole discretion of the the company, national averages for
Internet use is approximately 30 hours per month per account. The company
monitors all Internet account activity and, providing you use the service as
defined within the user agreement, the company defines UNLIMITED USAGE as a
"Live" and "Interactive" connection to the service for its
subscriber's enjoyment. It does NOT mean an unlimited or dedicated connection to
the Internet.
Inactivity is defined as less than 500 bytes of data transferred between
User's modem and the Horizonz service.
All accounts will automatically terminate connection after five (5) hours of
consecutive time, regardless of data transferred during such specific online
session.
You will be unable to log back onto the system for a time period of one (1)
minute following the termination of your previous online session, regardless of
the reason for the previous session's termination.
All access number are limited to 200 hours per month. Please read our Terms
of Service for more information.
Yes, you may change your username and/or
password at any time. In order to do so email Customer Service at cs@horizonz.com
No, we do not sell or give out any of your
personal information.
Once you have established a connection with
Horizonz, you can then open up your web browser (ie Internet Explorer or
Netscape), e-mail program, chat program etc. Since no software is
installed with the Horizonz setup, no programs will automatically load upon
connection.
Since Horizonz does not install any
software during setup, your web browser is not configured to make Horizonz your
default homepage. You can set your browser’s homepage to any website you
wish. To do so, go into the properties of your web browser. (i.e.,
Internet Explorer: click on tools, click on internet options, on the
general tab click in the text box next to address and type "http://www.horizonz.com/",
click on "OK".)
The online billing system that is
accessible from the Horizonz website is for web design clients, web
design/hosting clients, and for those local Internet subscribers who pay for
Internet service using cash/check. If you have signed up for Internet
service using a credit card your billing information is located in your control
panel.
Web Design Client Questions
The webmail for your website can be checked by typing webmail.yourdomain.com
into the address bar of your browser. You will not type http:// or www.
Click on the link "Forget Your Password?" on the online billing
login form. Submit your email address and the information will be emailed
to you.
