Qualcomm Eudora for Mac OS
if you have been using the Eudora 5.x POP client, and now want to switch to IMAP, proceed to step 1 below.

The following are IMAP-specific options in the Checking Mail Settings:
Note: If you have a high speed link, such as the campus Ethernet or a cable modem, it probably doesn't matter which option you choose.
Note: The other options in the Checking Mail category function the same way under IMAP as they do under POP.
Use a trash mailbox on the IMAP server : This option appears only in the Special | Settings | Personality Extras , and not in the Checking Mail settings. If this option is on (default), Eudora tries to create a Trash mailbox on the IMAP server the first time you transfer or delete a message from any mailbox stored on the IMAP server. You can keep all of your deleted messages in the <Dominant> Trash mailbox and either empty the mailbox periodically or retrieve deleted messages from the mailbox before they are removed from the IMAP server.
When you delete a message from the IMAP server with the "Use a trash mailbox on the IMAP server" option turned off, the message is marked for deletion but remains in the mailbox. If you want to remove messages marked for deletion from the IMAP server, hold down the Option key and select Special | Empty All Trash Mailboxes .
Note: When you delete a message which includes an attachment, the attachment is NOT automatically deleted.
Note: If you cannot tell which messages you have marked for deletion, choose Special | Settings | Mailbox Display and select Server under Columns
If you have a Trash mailbox on your IMAP server, when you delete messages from the IMAP server, the messages are moved (transferred) to the <Dominant> Trash mailbox. Your deleted messages are now in one location and you can remove all of them by selecting Special | Empty Trash .
Eudora will then download the IMAP folders of your email account. Click on the Account to see its contents. You will see 4 folders: Inbox, Sent, Drafts and Bulk.

The first three are the default folders of your IMAP account. The Bulk folder will contain all messages identified as SPAM.
